Putting Families First in Oregon

We are a citizen-led movement working to restore constitutional protections, stop the misuse of power in family courts, and keep children connected to their families.

Families, not systems, are the foundation of a healthy society.

Why Family First?

Across Oregon and the United States, families enter courtrooms expecting justice and help, but instead encounter vague rules, unaccountable professionals, and processes that turn parents into enemies and children into leverage.

The Problem

  • No clear rules: Family courts operate with vague standards like “best interests of the child” that mean different things to different judges.
  • Too much power for non-judges: Evaluators and other paid professionals often make the real decisions, with little oversight.
  • Parents presumed guilty: Allegations alone can separate parents from their children, even without proof.

Our Vision

  • Constitutional protections: Family law must follow due process, equal protection, and fundamental rights like every other area of law.
  • Children’s real needs: Decisions should support healthy emotional, physical, and social development—not guesses or biases.
  • Families first: Government actors and paid professionals should never replace loving, fit parents.
